Sage has a pungent, slightly minty taste that's often used to season stuffings for rich meats like goose and pork. It's also splendid in home-made sausages. Use it sparingly, though - the flavour is strong.
Where to grow: Best grown in light, well - drained soil, in full sun/light shade
